Take the I10 Frwy into Upland, exit on Mountain Ave. and travel north about 7.5 miles to Mt. Baldy Rd. Turn right (north) and drive another 7.5 miles or so to Manker Flat Campground. You can park at the campground. The trail and gate are on the left side of the road. Thomas Guide page: 512 E1

• Trail UpdateMt Baldy Ski Lifts-well instead of parking at Manker Flat we just drove to the ski lifts and bought some lift tickets. rode some of the fire trails and single track. super rocky but still pretty fun. to bad they dont have all the lifts going, chair 3 and 4 would be sick. have fun

• Trail UpdateSurprisingly Doable.-This trail was a nice easy but impressive climb up to the Baldy Ski Lodge. Then from there up to Thunder Mountain (the top of the second ski lift). The second half of the trail is very loose and I got frustrated with spinning wheels in rock and gravel. I don't know how anyone could manage the last steep hill up to the top of Thunder Mountain. A word of caution don't do the "Toiletbowl" trail down on your mountain bike. I surfed through rock and gravel before having the bike shift sideways and doing a handplant into the lovely rocks.
